Like our arterial line, cavity fluid strength is measured in Gendx. Gendx indicates the preservation strength of the cavity fluid. Gendx represents Genelyn’s second generation of preservation, measuring mixtures of formaldehyde and modern cross-linking preservation chemistry.
For example, a 30 Gendx is equivalent in preservation strength to a 30 Index in its reaction within the cells of the body.
This is our everyday cavity fluid. It penetrates cavity and visceral tissue quickly for a dry, firm result without the harsh fumes older cavity chemicals are known for. Because it's gentle enough for delicate tissue, we recommend it for infant and paediatric cavity work as well as routine adult cases, decomposition, delayed embalming, and trauma.
Cavity Alpha, 25 Gendx
Cavity Alpha is formulated to arrest alpha toxins associated with postmortem tissue gas. It bleaches, cauterizes, and shuts down odour while preserving and disinfecting the cavity and visceral tissue, and it doubles as a hypodermic treatment for tissue that didn't receive enough arterial fluid during injection. Reach for it on gasiform, aeriform, or miasmic cases, or use it as a surface pack on bedsores, ulcers, skin slip, and mutilated tissue.
Cavity Fifty Plus, 50 Gendx
Our highest-index cavity fluid, built for advanced decomposition, delayed embalming, and burned or traumatized remains. It saturates cavity tissue fast, bleaches discolouration, reduces swelling, and can also be sealed on as an external pack when a case calls for it.
Not every case needs a full cavity injection. When you're treating incisions, skin slip, ulcers, or exposed autopsy tissue, we make dedicated fluids for that work.
Cauterant Mix cauterizes, preserves, disinfects, and deodorizes broken skin and exposed tissue/cavities, and when used hypodermically, it bleaches tissue and helps arrest tissue gas as it spreads.
Cauterant Penetrating is built for the opposite problem: unbroken tissue that still needs deep chemical penetration, including dropsical (edema) cases and putrefied areas that need cauterizing.
Sanigel rounds out the surface treatments. It's a low-fuming gel that seals and preserves tissue inside the thoracic and abdominal cavities, along the rib cage, and on autopsy flaps. It's gentle enough for the face and hands, non-dripping, and it's what we recommend for sealing the orbital area after enucleation.
Autopsy Powders for Viscera Work
Autopsy cases call for chemistry that dries as well as it preserves. We offer paraformaldehyde-based powders, and none of them relies on filler material or dichlorobenzene, the compound older powders used to bulk up volume.
Interfiber pairs paraformaldehyde with highly absorbent fibres, ideal for drawing excess moisture out of autopsied organs and cavity walls while controlling odour on burns, edema, decomposing tissue, and mutilated remains.
Elite DryPAC is our strongest autopsy powder, a fast-coating crystalline formula built for cranial vaults, chest and abdominal cavities, decubitus ulcers, premature infant cases, and severe decomposition. Elite DryPAC incorporates Genelyn's antidusting technology to reduce airborne particles during application, solidifies viscera on contact, and skips the dichlorobenzene found in older hardening compounds entirely.
